Brazil exported the equivalent of US $ 6.12 billion in soybeans in the first quarter of 2019, up 19.7% from the same period of 2018.

The positive highlight among the main soybean importing countries in Brazil is China, which increased the pace of purchases by 17.7% in the first quarter of 2019 compared to the first quarter of 2018.

This is because the Asian country imported the equivalent of US $ 4.74 billion in the first 3 months of 2019, while in the same period of 2018 the value was US $ 4.03 billion.

It is also noteworthy in relation to the largest buyers of soybeans, the growth of imports to Vietnam and Turkey.

Vietnam increased its purchases of Brazilian soybean in sales in the first quarter of 2019 by almost 1,000%. This is because in the first quarter of 2018, the country's purchases totaled US $ 8.3 million, while in the same period of 2019, US $ 85.4 million.

On the other hand, and among the declines, the negative highlights are for Russia and the United Kingdom, as shown in the table above.

Brazilian and Soy Bean

Soybeans are the main source of income for the country and for rural producers, so much so that it has been leading the ranking of most exported products for over 22 years, that is, since Brazil began to record and disseminate foreign sales data. In recent years the crop has been gaining even more space, due to the almost guaranteed profitability of crops.

The weather, pests, weeds and agrochemicals that have crashed are the limiting factors. While attractive prices, degraded areas, the emergence of problem-resistant seeds and the high demand for the product are the attractive points.
